Gugulethu is one of the oldest marginal areas of Cape Town in which the investment for the World Cup has not helped to change its reality. High unemployment, lack of opportunities, lack of sanitary facilities, violence and housing precariousness are common problems in the township that is situated only 15 km from Green Point, the semifinal stadium, which costed more than 600 million dollars.
